Apple Picking in NC

Cruise director Kerri led us on another fabulous excursion a couple weekends ago: Apple-picking at Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock, North Carolina.
Despite the morning rain, which burned off while we were there, we all had a fabulous time!
(These are actually in reverse order, so we had clouds then RAIN then glorious sun!)

Picking apples was actually not the highlight. There were lots of playhouses and forts and swings, goats and sheep, and ducks and geese to feed. And a bamboo forest to explore. We will definitely try to go back again!

I've been apple picking there with Lisa, Jay, and Stacey after the first two moved away and Stacey and I were still at Clemson. It looks way more fun with kids, though!!

What a great outing.
I've been to Flat Rock, if I remember correctly, on the VFR way back when. It's a pretty good ways up there, isn't it?
Christopher must have been in heaven, with all that fruit around!

Christopher worked on an apple for about 45 minutes, eating just about the whole thing from top to bottom. John too made his way through 1 and a half. The apples were really good. You can definitely tell fresh ones from store bought.
