We went to the annual Central Railroad Festival a couple weekends ago. It was great fun. I think this was the second edition. It's super kid-friendly, very close, and not completely crowded. A perfect event for us! We spent time there with "old" BFF James and our new friend Henry and their families.
Andy stuck close to Miss Kerri.
June and her dad worked on a kaleidoscope at the Lowe's table.
Henry rode in the small engine, posing for his dad.
Tony and John took a spin on the "lawn mower train" with John's friend Finn. He lives around the corner from us and also goes to John's school. His dad co-owns our favorite local restaurant and his mom walks two gorgeous greyhounds past our house each day.
Mark and James rode in the caboose.
James participated in the "washboard workshop."
We broke the seal finally, and John and Christopher had tiger paws painted on. Christopher actually went first and that made John do it, after years of resisting.
This was Tony's favorite part.
Everyone took a turn driving the CAT bus.
Even Christopher.
Our friend Becky was beside herself with joy because they had "real donuts" instead of the usual "waxy" kind you find in the south. She is from Ohio and is still adjusting to the different food universe of the South.
Every one commented on how calm Keats was.
Chalk it up under both "Americana, baby" and "Good day." Hurray!

Where do Krispy Kremes fall on Becky's donut scale?
We just found out that KKs are finally coming to Bristol - I couldn't be more exciting. Best Buy is apparently coming too, in an unrelated expansion plan. Now, if we could just get Target over here, plus On the Border, then I think I'd be set.
Looks like y'all had a fantastic day - though I'm not sure John looks totally convinced by the face painting.
I didn't ask her. I was afraid to in case she hated them.
If you get all that stuff over there, we're never going to see you!!!
Don't worry - although it doesn't sound like it sometimes, y'all still are the most important things over there - even more than Mexican food - crazy, I know!
Whoa. I didn't think there was anything more important than Mexican food.
I KNOW - I didn't either!
You can imagine how surprised I was.
We'll have support group meetings at Hornucopia.
Christopher is super cute!
