The biggest excitement was that the fireman actually let all the kids spray the hose! That was an unexpected bonus! John was very excited to go first since he was the birthday boy. No clinging or shyness at all!

As the kids drifted over from spraying the hose, we had a bubble activity.
Alex was very good at making a big bubble!
The most popular was the bubble shooter or "bubble projector," as I tried to call it...
Katie worked very hard to achieve her desired effect.
Claire and Miss Susanna shared a quiet smile.

Awww! I love the bubble activity! Looked fun! Good for John to have such creative parents!
I don't know about creative, I think it's more the old "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." If you take 5 minutes to plan an activity, you might get 10 minutes of joy before the meltdown...
